The Nire Byre

Book Now

Slow down. You've arrived.

Welcome to Nire Byre, a stone cottage tucked into the quiet countryside of the Nire Valley, County Waterford. Forest walks begin right outside your door, the Comeragh Mountains rise behind the cottage, and grazing cows are your nearest neighbours. It's the kind of remote that's hard to find. Whether you're here to hike, fish, or simply slow down, the valley has a way of making you stay longer than planned.

We named Nire Byre for its location in the Nire River Valley and for its former life as a centuries old byre — the traditional word for a cowshed

  • Comfortable, self-contained one-bedroom cottage with a wood stove and deck
  • Decorated in a Scandi/Mid-Century style that reflects the calm surroundings
  • Forest walks with stunning mountain and valley views right outside your door
  • Pet lovers welcome — our gentle dog Oscar is always up for a snuggle
